This is one of my favorite Precolumbian images. It is a young female who is taking a hallucinogenic drug before being sacrificed.
It is a young female who is taking a hallucinogenic drug before being sacrificed. It is from Veracruz, Mexico. When I saw it in the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA a few years ago, I knew that it would be on my cover for CHICANO TODAY. I simply sketched it on a piece of scratch paper. |
